Mountain - Poem by James Shaw
I am a mountain that is old and strong
That stands alone in a plain as if I do not belong
I don’t care for I am a mountain, windswept storms cannot even break me!
As I stand in this plain defiantly
On my peak grows the reddest rose
For which all my love bestows
It is a hard and complicated climb to my summit
On slip and one will surely plummet
I am kind who cares for all
But never afraid of a brawl
This is but a fraction of the mountain that I am
There are 10,000 other qualities in every grain of sand
I am a mountain old and strong
And this was my song
