The anticipation was killing me.
I was pacing around outside
like an agitated lion waiting.
I had spoken to her an hour before
and as yet we had to meet.
I went back inside the hotel
watching every car that pulled in.
A blue van pulled in and she got out.
My eyes followed her as she walked to the door.
I stood as she entered.
Her smile radiated the lobby.
We did not need words
we knew who each other was.
We hugged,
and then we talked and talked
until my wife came back
and the introductions began again.

Author’s note. This depicts my first meeting with Melvina Germain
Such a thrill, David. Sounds as though you weren't disappointed. We seem to know each other so well in our virtual relationships on line, I often wonder what it must be like to actually meet face to face. Delighted that you met your dear friend at last. Thanks for sharing this important event in your life with such enthusiasm and such bright eyes. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Glad to hear all went well, I would have felt the same way, good write David, 10 Lynda xx
You got me. I thought it was a paramour. Very well written.
Not a 'Chance' encounter then....Nice to meet someone you seem to know very well for the first time. Sid.

I would like to translate this poem
An agitated lion waiting is a great description of how you must have felt. When I read 'her smile radiated the lobby' I knew you were on your way to a memorable trip. Great descriptions David and I am so happy for you. 10 Karin Anderson
