My Constant Companion
My constant companion
Has always been a walk
Never felt lonely
As to myself I can talk.
I walk with my chin in the air
The gentle breeze runs through my hair
The sun smiles at my face
My face smiles back...with solace.
I walk in the water
I walk in the wind
I walk in the sunshine
To get my daily vitamin.
My favorite place to walk
Near my house a small park
It has seen me through sadness n gaiety
From marching to mincing, ambling to bouncing
Even lumbering in times of injury.
During a walk my thoughts are focused
That is the time I think best
Solved n sorted through many a problems
When inspiration struck, even penned a few poems.
The day I cannot walk again
My heart is going to cry
God...either let me walk again
Or simply let me die.
The problems of life! ! Facing them with the faith of the mind. Thanks for sharing.
Walking alone - two nice things happening together... walking and being alone. Somehow society sees loneliness as an anti-social trait but i feel - 'if you can't live with yourself, you can't live with anyone! ! !
