'My Crystal Ball' Poem by Linda Winchell

'My Crystal Ball'

Rating: 5.0

While walking down the road one day
I found a crystal ball, which on the grass did lay.
I never really believed in such
but laid my hands upon it
to give my corious touch.

Then with just a thought in mind to ask
I began the questions, of this ball of glass.
'What is the future of the word to be? '
'And what is going to happen to me? '

With those questions the crystal ball replied
'I am sorry to say, that you're going to die'.
'And the world of which you are now living in'
'Will be destroyed by the hand, of man's greed and own sin'.

So distraught I tossed the crystal away!
I was in shock of what I had heard.
I think this crystal ball stuff is just a hoax!
and all of what it claims is just absurd!

Why was I going to die?
And the world with own hands destroy itself?
I'm young and healthy and do good deeds!
And think of others before myself!

I know the world is hurting
and in need of so many things.
But how can just one person conquer
overcoming all the pain it brings?

I guess someone else had that crystal
before I picked it up and asked?
And found out that nothing can predict ones future
from a clear ball, that's made of glass!

Hi Linda. Who knows what the future may bring, and if we did know, would we be the better for knowing? I think its best to take life as it comes and do the best with what we've got. Really good read and well thought through.10/10/10 Regards Dave T
