all men deserve to dream
and these are some of mine
a peace on earth that lasts
where harmony can shine
I do not mean to preach
but what we learn we owe
so stop and listen well
to things you need to know
the only race on earth
is called the human race
that we are family
no bigot can erase
the gender wars must end
respect is still the key
and blessing everyone
to be what they will be
the garden then restored
that we lost long ago
will end all hunger here
this gift the gods bestow
and do I really think
all this could come to be
or is it just a hunch
from blind infinity
I do not really know
I think that faith's a test
I hope the teacher knows
that I have done my best
delusions these may be
but I don't think that's so
I may not see the peak
but from the afterglow
I tried to spread the news
that peace and love are all
the only things of worth
before the stars must fall
the task is passed along
so fight for what is right
remember that old song
and keep the prize in sight
Not delusions, Barry, but dreams & desires of all decent men..... When a messed-up knee kept me housebound today, a friend brought us Chinese take-out food for lunch. The fortune in my cookie? Love is the most valuable thing in life. Peace, love & harmony. I'd say you nailed it in your poem!
Beautiful poem with a beautiful message. We are all dreamers and we dream of a beautiful world where peace reign in all lands.
I tried to spread the news that peace and love are all the only things of worth before the stars must fall....//.... the only race on earth is the human race.... so fight for what is right. The poem works its magic to the reader's heart with its great message. Thanks.

Lovely dreams you have for mankind. Good thoughts are what we need and the rest will follow. But we have to begin with thinking positive. A thoughtful write.
