My First Cake Bake! Poem by Aarifa Almas

My First Cake Bake!

Rating: 4.8

I still remember the day when I baked my first ever cake ๐ŸŽ‚...
I was very nervous and curious as if it were my very first date....

With all the ingredients in handy...
Yet afraid that it doesn't turn into a candy ๐Ÿฌ...

There went some flour and baking powder...
With some milk, eggs, butter and sugar...

Sieving and mixing, beating and folding...
The bowl was quite appealing that I was holding...

Into the baking tray it went and then into the pre-heated oven...
Setting the time, with fear in my mind and eyes wide open...

My fingers were crossed as the batter started rising faster...
Hoping that the cake doesn't turn into a disaster...

I felt that baking cake isn't a piece of cake...
Unless I had one baked by me in my plate..

Finally the cake was baked..
It's smell was just great...

I was surrounded by my cutie pies...
They were ready to take their bites...

I was praying in my heart โ™ฅ...
I hope the cake is not so hard...

They were having their piece of cake..
And I was in a finger biting state..

With lots of unexpected hugs and kisses...
I came to know that it was a success...

The true beauty of a perfect cake is its softness...
Just like the heart of a mother with extra warmness...

So you see I learnt to bake a spongy soft cake..
And since then away went all my fear to bake a cake ๐ŸŽ‚...

The household words you use are charming, and I find them quite disarming. I thought I was taking a mental vacation, then I watched you scurry like I was on location! I like the wit of baking a cake is not a piece of cake. You say the bowl is appealing, and that reminds me of watching my mother mix batter in her bowl. That bowl was the focus of so much childhood anticipation! Your words are permeated with baking smells and family warmth.

Wow... Your Cake sounds to be as delicious as your poem. A true experience you have shared here. The nervousness and anxiety till your hard work turns out to be a success is true not only in baking a cake but even when you receive the first comment on your poem. The Rhyme and rhythm have been brilliantly used to deliver the emotional excitement perfectly well.10+++++...
