My Prayer for Him

He carried the worlds sadness in his eyes, the burden I knew only God could take away. He told me he couldn’t “remember” the last time he smiled, laughed even. This is for him and those like him. There is refuge for you, there is light I can try to bring your way, now keep in mind all I’ve got is a candle but it’ll guide you despite its small glow. I will be there if and when you need me, I’m sorry I was away. Life is trying to break him but I know a man who can pour water on his wounds and make him whole again. Together lord you and I can bring him back, you have the power to pull him back. Bring him back, help him smile until it becomes effortless, I will not stop until he finds joy again, finds a smile again, finds light again, finds himself again, finds you again.
