My Prayer For The Earth Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

My Prayer For The Earth

Rating: 5.0

I worship the trees and the birds
They are churches and the priests
Telling that I pray in vain
They are being destroy by the g-dless
And so-called Christains
But I pray anyway because there's a g-d
I see them in a child's face
And hear it in a voice singing verses
Of hymns, ancient and comforting
I hear the birds sing their arias
And the swaying trees
As leaves fall unto the wet soil
The rain echoes my prayer
For the earth to renew itself
Then, watch the daffodils break through
And worshipping the sun's spring
