Naked Truth Poem by Romeo Della Valle

Naked Truth

Faces passing by
Wishing they had not seen me
Affectedly nodding
And smiling-worried
Mumbling conventional offerings
Of salutation...

I squirm trying
To break the discomfort,
Why do they pretend
I even exist,
If I cause such embarrassment?
Guilty misunderstanding? ...
Only time can tell...
