New Roads Poem by Nosheen Irfan

New Roads

Rating: 4.6

Their bond snapped without a sound
No reproaches broke from their lips
no blames were hurled in the air
It was a mute storm that ripped through
their place of refuge
In no time, everything came down
They didn't mind the rain, nor the thunder
because their souls were thirsty,
their hearts were deadened by drought
They had a feeling that
from the ruins will grow
new things
new paths will emerge
because the journey never stops
So they smiled through their tears
held their hands one last time
before they could start anew
on new roads
to new ends.

A very very persuasive composing. You see in front of your eyes the scene. So beautiful painted that you forget it conserns a sad face of life. That is poetry, the one which transforms the reality to an other reality that of the aesthetic perception.Kudos, Nosheen.

It is rare I think to accomplish such a thing. Both parties mutually in understandance that the end has come, and rather than to struggle against it, to wallow in it or to long for a different outcome: to embrace the freedom for what it is. A new beginning, and another shot at finding a counterpart. Beautiful

Our place of refuge In no time, everything came down///ΤThinking of translating it into my native language, the hellenic, i realized that I do not fully understand these verses.Do, please, explain in other words the verses. What stays a difficult to a translator are the capital letters by which starts each verse.I imagine it in my hellenic to sound beautiful too.

Thank you so much Dimitrios for thinking of translating it. This poem is about a break-up, an ending of a relationship that is no longer fulfilling so its better to part ways without any feeling of bitterness. It's a positive take on a break-up. Because life doesn't begin or end with one person. New roads always await us. As for capital letters, they may easily be replaced by small ones because their use is not deliberate.
