New Year Poem by Abdul Wahab

New Year

Rating: 5.0

New Year

Years come and years go
Leaving me more experienced and making me older
Less time to live, less suffering to see
Fewer murders and fewer rapes to hear
Less cries of a child, less wailing of a woman
And man in the oppression and unjustified war
Happy for making things short
But very sad for growing gory things in number
Gruesome were the heinous crimes
Done this year than the previous year
So I am very fearful of what garrulous events
Will be brought by the New Year
Most of the time my predictions turn to be right
And most of the cases I was happy
But this time I would not be sad if I am proved wrong
I am here giving you the task,
Giving you the challenge
Oh! New Year, sing me the sweetest song I ever heard.

Drastic and dreary but ends on a positive poetic note of hope. Written in a hard hitting excellent way sir. Nice to read from your pen again,

New Year begins with the sweetest song. Challenges are on its way. Still a good day to being with. Happy New Year.
