No Joke - Poem by Cynthia Cyanide

If you think I'm gonna cry over you
I'm not,
Yeah we had some good times chillin' out
Atleast that's what I thought,
And now that I think about it
I don't need you,
Cuz you were never there for me
When I was feeling blue,
I kept trying to kid myself
Thinking you'd come around,
But it looks like you don't need me
Cuz you found another girl in town,
Now I'm not worried about you
Because I might hurt myself,
I'm not gonna get back with you
I'd just get my heart broke,
I'm through puttin up with you
That ain't no joke! ! ! !

First, change the title it gives the poem away. Make the reader think deep into another level that he or she has not been in. And take away the last line if your going to keep the orgianal line because in poetry you never write what you are trying to convey across the poem. Thats at least what my teacher said. It sounded like a song rather than a poem. It sounded like at dream girls song the one that used to be in american idol. It needs some form change and commas but the voice was there. (Report)Reply
