Nostalgia Poem by Eyan Desir

Nostalgia

Rating: 5.0

The portrait once cherished
a beauty once painted
slipped into the depths of sand
in the mind's frozen pages
sits a face illuminating
clouds saturated with dusk.

A woman's sugary lips
magnified flames in my heart
beneath the covers
tender gratification flowed
as I took a breath, I'm swept back.

Over the shoulders
bears her voice some where
memories stick as stains
the yearnings can't be erased.
