This is dedicated in loving memory of Taylor Hyer, who sadly passed away as an eighth grader. We all miss him. It was read by the principal to students, parents, and teachers on April 6,2007 at a tree planting in his memory. I am very honored to have Taylor's friends and family hear it.
There is nothing more beautiful than a good deed
a person who can stand up and take the lead
someone who knows each day is a gift
someone who's not afraid to make a wish
there is nothing more beautiful than a sincere smile
a person who can make everything worth while
someone who knows that in the end of the end
all those little wounds will eventually mend
there is nothing more beautiful than a hand to hold
a person who knows love never gets old
someone who likes the little things that come from day to day
someone who leaves you with memories that never fade away
there is nothing more beautiful than a new dawn
a moment when you look up to see the clouds are gone
a key to the future in the palm of your hand
and a place where you are understood and you understand
there is nothing more beautiful than heartfelt words
coming from a voice so longing to be heard
someone who knows life is more than a race against time
it's what you do that matters, it's what you give that makes you shine
there is nothing more beautiful.
It was hard, wasn't it? But i think this poem makes it alright again. it is so beautiful. words can't describe it.: ( :)
First, I pass my condolences to you and his friends and family... Second, this poem is so heartfelt, and I hope you are proud of this fine work... You have made this old lady cry! Truly one of your best, and worthy of being read out loud for everyone to hear. My heart goes out to you, Jade, Lee
