Nothing Stays The Same Poem by David Harris

Nothing Stays The Same

Rating: 5.0

In this old world of ours,
nothing stays the same.
Two hearts so much in love
could easily break tomorrow
or when the next day comes.
Two lives could be easily shattered
as nothing stays the same.
Hate can easily turn to love
the very same way.
One day you could hate someone,
next day you could love them to bits.
The future is not ours to share
for nothing ever stays the same.
Today you could say you are leaving
and tomorrow you’ll come home again;
as long as this old world keeps turning,
nothing will ever stay the same.

The first line is kind of an anthem of mine or personal creed: ' In this old world of ours, nothing stays the same.' Doesn't mean I like it, but the clock reminds me of a giant watchspring; winding itself one way and then springing the other way to finally regain some balance. Great illustrative words in here about life's conundrums.

'Nothing stays the same' the poem says it all and the world we live in pays tribute to this, the scene of this world is changing and the attitudes of people too, this poem is great though and let that not change

The truth, nothing lasts forever, like I said it in many of my poems, especially in the one titled: 'IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS', your poem David is well penned, you got my vote 10+, keep it up! Love and Peace, Romeo

It is so true that nothing stays the same. My saying is, nothing lasts forever. But you know, we wouldn’t want it any differently I don’t think. That’s what makes life so interesting. Good poem, my friend. “10! ” Warm Wishes, Marilyn
