POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is an earlier version of a poem I posted under the title Lewis Carroll Said.... Fellow poet Richard Wlodarski remarked (and in doing so inspired me)that this version reminded him of astral projection and could, perhaps should, be posted under a different title. After some thought, I understood OBE could mean so much more than out-of-body experience, but that all the other possibilities held out a link between body and mind, or spirit, or some abstraction....Thanks for the inspiration, Richard.

The title of the poem attracts my eyes which has many meanings and hence I went through the poem.It has been beautifully captured. Thanks.

So much appreciated, Richard. I really did find your last Kerouac poem amazing. Hope it finds its way into your book. Thanks again. And I'm sure Bri is talking about the oboe.

You're very welcome, M.J.! I'm not sure how you snuck this one by me. Maybe, it's a mixed blessing i.e. I would have missed out on the other poets' fascinating comments. Is Bri referring to an oboe? Wonderful instrument. And a brilliant insight into this excellent poem. And Soul's insight is so brilliant! M.J., once again, you've outdone yourself! Keep them coming! ! !

Wow, this is quite something. It's a good thing you awoke in one piece and not dissected like some unfortunate magician's assistant! On a serious note though, it does broaden the playing field on what's considered an out of body experience. An imaginative write! ~

Thank you, Nika. Actually, some time ago I got the idea when I remembered I always thought Lewis Carroll was some kind of magician...somehow that thought combined into an inspiration for this poem.

The old theory that our souls leave our body was not so much wrong. When we are conscious our soul and our body are together. When we are sub-conscious they are separated and the dreams at this stage we remember. The stage of unconsciousness is still a mystery. But we are broken when we sleep.

Thank you so much, Akhtar. And now your observation has me thinking....sleep is often portrayed as the instrument that repairs our 'broken' states in consciousness...You make a very thought provoking observation.

(continued) ...well, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , not 'exactly' loved. let us just say 'it' whet/wet? my appetite for, years later, writing my 6' 3 poem. i'd 'love', also, to see a comma (not coma; i had one LAST week) and a period in the poem, but i know i can't always get my way! WAHHHHH! where is the nonsense [ a topic of the poem ] here? ? ? it all seems perfectly 'normal' thinking and writing to................ME! TO MyPoemList. bri ;)

Thanks so much, Bri. Interesting observation...yes, some people have remarked that this is not 'nonsense'....Perhaps this version isn't. The original (Lewis Carroll Said....) doesn't quite have the focus that's here. Think OBE and anything that can mean....!
