Of Love And Lust Poem by Sandra Feldman

Of Love And Lust

Rating: 5.0

Lust turns to dust,
But love will last,
Together lovers stay,
Love is not lust,
For it does last,
Much longer than a day.

How dear the Other is to One,
What tenderness, we feel!
With Love your Life fully begins,
Lust then has no appeal.

Love is and was and will become,
The best thing you can feel,
Love is the Song of Life that's sung,
A Miracle that's Real

You have written a Poem at the Cross-Roads, because both Love and Lust involve Sex. There is no ambiguity in your response: You choose and direct your reader down the Path of Love, and while walking this path, he or she will find and and incorporate Passion in the experience of Love. Meanwhile, those who took the other path will encounter either satiety or emptiness, but no passionate fulfillment. By the way, I admire the economy of your poems. You trust your carefully chosen words to carry your meaning and they do!

Love is a meandering river, flowing on its own, through twists and turns. Lust is a sudden tidal bore, that sometimes overflows the river and disturbs its musical motion.
