Oh! It's The Canon

Rating: 4.5

On the sands of centuries works of Art gather
into a sizzling body so tempting as to lead
us into a belief they are the best in their report,

never to be ravished by the savage slouching
on the metalloid street that leads nowhere
but to chaos - Anarchy's heaven. We follow

as the blind somewhere around norms, lighted
or sighted, and think that's all there is to it -

often thought of as something like destiny.

I enjoyed the autobiographical element in the story. These lines were noteworthy: 'On the sands of centuries works of Art gather... never to be ravished by the savage slouching on the metalloid street that leads nowhere but to chaos – Anarchy’s heaven. We follow as the blind somewhere around norms, lighted or sighted, ... the canon that’s full of words and ideas which you could replace with balls of fire. ' Very bold poem full of insight into the spoil made by humanity. Thank you. Nibedita Deb.
