Oh, Jerusalem Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Oh, Jerusalem

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes you think you need faith
for the whole journey,
when all you need is faith
for the next step.(Dr. Clarence Haynes)

To Dr. Clarence Haynes' opinion,
Jesus must have cried here,
when He entered Jersusalem in Matthew 22: 3

Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
the city that kills the prophets
and stones God's messengers!

How often I have wanted to gather your children together
as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings,
but you wouldn't let me.

I have to admit here
I cried too
and how!

never a shame
to get this fame
but constantly
humble and with honesty

very sad to realize for me
about a person like Jesus,
Our Lord and Saviour

WHO has done so many things
to keep us on the right track
but we do not respond as huge proud buildings
but like a dirty damaged wreck
who needs help to get up again!

and Jesus' love is very great, the greatest of all

so many events in the Bible

especially when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life,
how happiest they were, his two sisters,
their brother is alive again

these sisters thought that Jesus would not come,
for they waited so long, waited in vain,
and just when they gave up hope

Jesus came,
so not in their time,
but in His Time

And much more knowledge we can learn from the Bible
be sure when we pray
is talking to Him enlightens our hearts
our soul and spirit are merry and happy!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Jesus is The Almighty God, The Only One, since He only can raise people from the dead and above all He is arisen after being dead and buried three days. No other can do this Highest Wonder of All, this fact of Supreme Power, arisen from the dead! This is historical fact in our History.Thank you so much for reading and responding, best wishes from The Netherlands, Sylvia Frances Chan. Friday 12 March 2021

It is true Sylvia, we are here on earth on borrowed time. Great quote to introduce your faith filled write. Let each of our daily works be done in remembrance of God's love.
