One Hot August Day Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

One Hot August Day

Rating: 5.0

On this August day
I shade from burning sun rays
With a large cone hat.

I sweat profusely
Even just walking slowly
Around rose bushes.

I check on beetles
Who came for their mating feast
With my rose petals.

Hundreds of beetles
Ate hundreds of my roses
I spray to kill them.

I trim dead roses
To stimulate the new growth
Of my rose bushes.

Then clay court I brush
My sweat drops on red brick dusts.
I rest with a nap.
