Only Silence Remains Poem by Andy Brookes

Only Silence Remains

Rating: 5.0

you sang me natures song
woven of air, flickering flames,
ripples of water, a fall of leaves
summer grass, winter snow.
sang of love in the brightness of day
soft serenades by the moons soft glow.
gently your voice light as butterflies wing
then to soon you were gone in Autumn
like the passing Summer rain,
leaving me in Winter's cold

despite the winter's cold, this poem exposes great joy in life for so long through summer grass, winter snow, flames and the moon's glow- all still there except for " the lover" and so everything has lost some luster of its emanations
