Otherwise, Bored Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Otherwise, Bored

I talk to my friends; you talk to your
friends.
Mostly we reconnect once our
respective conversation ends.
We both started the same way.
Friends.
At some point, I've become the
stranger that doesn't want
To let go.
Most of my friends are married, the
other half, still trying
To figure it out.
I talk to my friends; you talk to your
friends.
Once you enter the conversation you
become my focus.
With all respect to my friends.
They know that you come first.
Once I enter the conversation. You get
up and leave the room.
I've sat and thought about that for
some time.
Maybe I was supposed to leave the
room
But I couldn't figure out how to do that
without it looking deceitful
Or come to another conclusion that
wouldn't otherwise be rude.
I talk to my friends; you talk to your
friends.
When your respective friend's
significant other walks in the room
They must call you back.
Then you're stuck. Otherwise, bored.
Attempting to produce a plan to get me
out of your face.
Not realizing all the words you're
saying in between
