Our Chess Competition.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Our Chess Competition....

OUR CHESS COMPETITION….

Dear Kim,
know I'm slim,
not too thin,
slim on that part,
I know we both are smart
and we always win

why?
I have to admit
I'm a bit shy,
'but God gave me this talent,
to play this as a complement,

but due to corona times,
the churchbells do not chime,

finally I am here
for that chessplay
according to you in a way

and yes! !
you and I play chess,
we are both almost on top!
but..... we flopped

No shame,
because we both
play this game

not as our daily
job,
trust me, you and I are still on top
and leisurely worldwide,
through our free time-poemsite,

ah, dear Kim,
don't you want to confess?
that YOU are the King of Chess? !

and few poets have ever known or seen
that I am the Chess Queen....!

this chess poem is humorous and above all friendly,
next to our beloved,
this game is a bygone time every time

During Corona times in my country
I play more chess o.n.l.i.n.e.
than give o.n.l.i.n.e. lectures to my brilliant students,
keep up the courage, you will soon be able to go back to the university to get LIVE lectures!

Sylvia, What a cute little poem about the world's greatest game! Chess is wonderful, but with the current world situation, it is best to play it remotely and electronically. Perhaps sometime we could arrange to play a game over the computer. I am really only a " Class B" player according the the US Chess Federation ratings, but maybe I could give you an interesting game.

Both are bright and and now slim feature is witnessed. Kim will feel the truth. God has given you the attitude of shyness but through each attitude you serve for mankind by his grace. This is the time of Corona and this has frightened us not to go out. Many are at home and not going to Church as they are praying at home. We are not hearing church bell. Playing chess gives amazing fun. This is competition. A brilliant poem is interestingly penned...10..Amazing!
