Our History Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Our History

There is something about a tree.
Either with pines on it or leaves.
To remain to stay as is to be.
Day in and out.
That tree is a tree.
Whomever may disagree.

Grass is like that too.
Whether mowed or not.
And not often is a boulder,
Mistaken for a rock.

Yet...
Ever to change,
Is the truth it seems.
Told to tell with many versions of it.
Depending on who teaches this.
And how that truth,
To rely upon began to exist.

And conflicts to begin,
With them to start without end.
Has a lot to do,
Who it is that deceives the best.
As if a contest to win.
To leave many upset protesting.
That lies told to believe,
Conflicts with evidence produced.

However...
Those presenting their proof of truth.
Will always be confronted.
By those who live,
On lies to them told.
To never suspect their ancestors,
As liars to embellish stories to tell.
And them to sell sold.
From times gone to go.
Left cemented embedded in minds.
Holding onto visions Mythed into reality!

"I am telling you,
When one of those Pharoahs...
Decided to let my people go.
They were then invited to this party.
And overheard this woman telling her son,
She got tired of drinking water.
Then she demanded,
He turn that water into wine."

-And 'WHERE' is your proof of that? -

"Here in this Bible.
Now...
Dispute the truth I speak."

-But...
How does that disproves,
The evidence we have...
Of you being a crook, deceiver.
And a lieing thief? -

"Your Honor,
If I may.
I request these allegations against me,
Be immediately investigated.
My hired lawyers were paid big bucks,
To undercover the truth.
I have been accused to make this stuff up."

-Your Honor,
If I may I would like to approach the bench,
With tons of evidence that will convince...
This plaintiff is skilled in delusions to create.
And this craze we must,
Be determined to eliminate.
If justice ever again will be trusted! -

"You see...
They all are against ME!
Your Honor.
Even refusing,
To accept Your ancestors and mine.
And from my point of view,
We are all being attacked...
By liberals and their diversity.
Attempting to re-write,
OUR history! "

-Uh...
Whose history? -

"Not yours.
OUR history! "
