Out My League Poem by Laquory Jones

Out My League

Rating: 5.0

Stanza: 1
At night I catch myself drifting away in dreams although
It may seem as if I'm coming unhinged at the seams
Nothing could ever replace what you truly mean to me
Tonight I swallow my pride keeping everything that
I feel about you inside so tonight lets camp out under
The moon and stars as they shine bright tis is our right
As the heat ignites blazing its sights tis is our lives

Chorus:
People have said over and over that you're out my league
But something about you has me intrigued
It's you that I need no doubt indeed
Will you give me every part of you willingly
I'm just trying to get into your head
Just planting seeds am I that hard to read
There's something about you that I find unique
Every-time I get near you I can barely speak
Then you tell me you're getting weak in the knees
I tell you that your beauty is all I see and that
We have always been meant to be its our destiny
Implemented through-out the centuries
And you begin to react with a laugh
but we can't ignore this fact that our bodies attract

Stanza: 2
Here comes my second wind I'm reckoning tis is true that
Nothing ever compares to you with your light shining through
Destiny binding me intertwining you aligning us just reminding us
How it truly feels when love becomes all too real I guess it
Really heals wounds in due time never knew that beauty could
Be so sublime the way you're moving your hips from side to side
Your dancing should be a crime but, all kidding aside
You make me come alive at the perfect times
At one point I thought I had died but one look at you
I knew then that we would survive our futures are
Shining bright you can deny it with all your might
But Cupid's Arrow has already taken flight
So the question remains now
Will you love me back In time?

A terrific poem, Laquory. What you capture here is the ability of love to make one feel simultaneously empowered and inadequate. Your accomplishment is done with great great skill and artistry.
