Paperboat Poem by Melanie Emikohe

Paperboat

Rating: 4.0

His love got me sailing
But it's made of a paperboat;
Now soggy, dismembered...
Such love - a floating rubbish!

I wish to retract my heart
But it has left to sail,
Out on a sea of paperboats,
Swamped, sinking.

Melanie, an achingly lovely poem. Perhaps the heart will find the strength to swim for shore.
