Patriotism Revived Poem by Ratnakar Mandlik

Patriotism Revived

Rating: 5.0

Scams and scandals hovering over the nation,
Off springs of the scoundrels'nasty imaginations
Engulfed the nation in quagmire of corruption
Ushering advent of a night on a day of no moon.

Pitch dark blackness created by the scams
In the public life has started to wring alarms.
Anguish of the masses rising against corruption
Have earmarked the scamsters beyond salvation.

Soon 'll overflow with them all penitentiaries,
No brain behind them be exempt from enquiries.
Recall they must with soil comes the cow dung,
When lifted, though carefully, it remains unsung.

Dawn expells gloom proclaiming nights' departure
Thus, reviving patriotism and nations' future.

I like this portrayal of democratic demagogues driven by putrid sludge of iniquity - democratic mobs who exploit the gullibility of the populace to feather their nests. very insightful indeed. Thanks for sharing.

We are too patriotic, too ambitious, too cautious and too frightened of the ghosts, that rule us. Wake up India. We can live better.
