Our Kerala tour moved like a pendulum
For a while only at Ernakulum.
Hotel Suneeti Suites on highway forty seven
Though gave us a feeling that we were in heaven.
Life was paralysed on Feb.20 and twenty one
By the Bharat bandh called by leftists n CPM.
Lot of fun and frolic we had in the sojourn
Enjoyed in the 'Vihar'was aim of every one.
Torrid atmosphere prevailing at Ernakulam
Was contained fabulously by airconditioners.
Unfulfilled wish to visit unique Kochi harbour
Was mellowed by scenic beauty at beach Kovalam.
Joy n sorrow are perhaps the destinations
Touched frequently by our mind's Pendulum.
Your tour to God's own Country has been crafted very well. I am happy that at least you were able to visit the Kovalam beach though not Kochi Harbour..The last two lines are the jewels in the crown of the poem.
I went to Kerala in year 2004, the year in which Tsunami hit the coast of Chennai (then Madras) Kovalam and Kanyakumari....The back waters at Alleppey was fantastic and unforgettable even after 11 years the memory of Kerala is very fresh in our memory. I revisited Kerala by reading your poem, Thanks for sharing.
''Joy n sorrow are perhaps the destinations Touched frequently by our mind's Pendulum. '' An excellent diction. I love this lovely poem.
Dear Ratnakar ji, Really happy to know of your visit to Kerala. Yes, the scenic beauty is mesmerising but unfortunately, the constant strikes and bandhs in Kerala is a bit of a discomfort to all tourists. So true, life in Kerala is like a pendulum. A most appropriate description! Surely, a full vote for this poem.....10
Beautiful pictures of Kerala painted. In fact I have visited very few places in Kerala. Pendulum are swinging in joy and sorrow. Loved reading it.
The pendulum of life! Moving here and there. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to know you came to Ernakulam...... my neighbouring city and enjoyed your stay there, but sorry to know you got stranded awhile because of the bandh. ''Bandhs' are a curse to Kerala, putting people into unanticipated troubles. Enjoyed reading your poem!
Mind's pendulum is very wise and amazingly drafted with imagery in between joy and grief. Very fantastic poem shared definitely. This gives brief idea about thought. Amazing...10

So sad that the eagerly sought after tour to God's own Land couldn't be brought to the expected culmination of joy as the enthsiasm was doused by the State wide Bandh! It is nice to know that you enjoyed the beauty of the Kovalam Beach. Joy and sorrow, fulfilments and disappointments are all inevtable part of life. Enjoyed the poem!
