Pausing To Reveal Flaws Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Pausing To Reveal Flaws

Pausing to reveal,
Their flaws from loosened jaws.
Detrimental to prevent,
More contradictions...
Of laws they have invented.
With a hope to defend,
Some sense of them made.
To convince their constituents,
This to do will eventually benefit...
A truth to distort,
With overwhelming evidence proven.
Had been done with thought.
And a way of life,
Taken into consideration.

Pausing to reveal,
Their own flaws from loosened jaws.
To portray themselves as brave patriots.
And heros of a maintained democracy.
Although the choosing to accept,
Which version of diversity should reflect...
An image that is kept respected.
Is not a bet anyone should expect to win.
With or without flaws to admit has caused,
Division, racism.
And the entitlement to flaunt their ignorance,
Undaunted!

"All hail the greatness of our decision made! "
