Pebble Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Pebble

Rating: 5.0

I throw a pebble in the lake
And watch the circles disappear,
I see the sunshine rise and fall
And I wish that you were here.

I watch the amber glowing water
As the evening turns to gold,
On the bank I feel so lonely
For my dreams I cannot hold.

I never want to go back home
For the memories are too strong,
It is there that I'll remember
The life we shared there for so long.

So I'll stay here for the moment
Till it's time for me to go,
I will let the starlight guide me
And by morning I shall know.

As I listen to the silence
Thoughts are running through my head,
Trying to pass away the hours
I long to be with you instead.
