Pistaka Meal On Mother's Day Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Pistaka Meal On Mother's Day

Rating: 5.0

A delicious Pistaka meal is offered
To all the mothers of the world,
Every pistaka is prepared at home,
Pistaka is the Sanskrit word for cake,
Indian cakes are made in special ways,
Every traditional mother in India
She makes many delicious cakes for
Her children and family members,
Here we offer a memory of Pistaka Meal!

I remembered back my past days,
When my mother was making many cakes
As per my choice I was urging,
She was serving those to me with curry,
She was never hurry but ever ready,
She was ever busy but never irritated,
My mother was much affectionate,
She was pious, calm and righteous,
On this Mother's Day,
As her youngest son,
I offer this Pistaka Meal of memory!

The day was there she was making
Many Pistakas for us and she was serving,
The day has turned and for her peace,
My spouse has made all these cakes,
So many names are there of varieties,
Pistakas will be distributed among all,
But in her memory still we live,
Mother's veil greets the Mother's Day!
Her Daughter-in-law has become her mother!

This year we celebrate Mother's Day
At home separately with social distancing,
We offer prayer before God
For safer motherhood and healthy nourishing,
This Holy Pistaka Meal is offered to God,
Because finally he is our Super Father
And he is only our Super and Primitive Mother,
God has sprinkled holiness on Pistaka Meal!

The spread on the table looks delicious......! I haven't seen such cakes before. Your venerable remembrance of your mother on mother's day is appropriate. Glad that your wife has taken upon herself the art of making the cookies your mother made. Let this art be passed on to generations. A beautiful poem!

good to hear about Indian foods, KM. I can't find a recipe though. Tell me if the pistaka is sweet. I'm intrigued that it goes with curry. though maybe there's no chilli in the curry.
