Please Stay Awhile Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Please Stay Awhile

Rating: 5.0

I dreamt of you,
you passed my way.
If only for real,
If only to stay.

You smiled at me,
That smile i loved,
We hugged real tight,
Like hand to glove.

Those tender words,
You said to me,
Tugged at my heart,
so splendidly.

And then you faded,
into dawn,
My heart felt lonely,
lost and torn.

Where have you gone,
I need you here,
I miss those days,
When you were near.

Come to my dreams,
I miss your smile.
Come to my dreams,
Please stay awhile

A picturesque and sentimental work--full of the deep longings of the soul! The imagery is stirring and fittingly dreamlike!
