Please Take This Blanket From Me Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Please Take This Blanket From Me

Rating: 5.0

Please take this blanket from me
For I'm young and you are old,
And wrap yourself within it
To protect you from the cold,
'Though it's all I have within this world
You need it more than I,
So take it now my gift to you
And do not question why.

I'll see you in the morning
If we make it through the night,
It's time for us to get some rest
For soon it shall be light,
We'll sleep within this doorway
For we've nowhere else to go,
And shelter from the bitter wind
That does so cruelly blow.

The moon does shine, the stars are clear
The winter snow lies deep,
Two lonely souls without a home
Nor bed in which to sleep,
Now lying here together
On this filthy slab of stone,
I'm glad I found a friend this night
So I'll not be alone.

Hi Andrew, The poem is so remarkable... Only... you do not speak her that she is already old and chilly... :) Tsira
