Plunge Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Plunge

Headed towards a plunge.
From a steep nosedive deep,
Even rays from an enormous Sun...
Will never reach a bottom done.

No one with unlimited patience,
Would accept payment to teach anyone...
Incapable to sit, listen or pretend listening.
Especially if one is accustomed to believe,
Their way of expressing discipline...
Is receiving undivided attention.
Before threatening to take a leap.

Headed towards a plunge.
And seeking validation of it.
From those invited with a hope,
They witness such death defying fetes.
Whether seen or be convinced to believe.

Headed towards a plunge.
And only the blind and thoughtless,
Would support explanations to excuse...
Following fools who advertise,
An abyss to experience provides benefits for all.
Although,
We live in different times today.
And many seem to have wishes,
To be proven stupid.
Than using their minds to allow logic,
Some consideration.
Or finding the use of common sense,
As nothing one should run from.
Or fear it as an enemy to keep,
Shackled or kept oppressed.
