Poetic imagery
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
It's a stormy morning
And I like the calm
Of the whispering winds
And the soft fall of the snow;
I look outside the window
And see the sun shining
And shimmering in the white snow
For it shines through the grey skies
Making way for the spell of warm feeling;
The landscape is all white and brown
With the white of innocence
And the brown of fertility
And I say, I love winter for
It does not have an inequitable aspect;
I simply adore spring and summer and autumns
For the colourful landscape
Makes me effervescent with joy
And gives me the evergreen virginal feeling
For I feel I am being penetrated by warmth
In the newness of the moment every year
Just as "Artemis renewed her virginity by bathing
In a spring dyed with the blood of Actaeon".
