Whatso might be, let not your bet
Be with politician nor yet poet,
With no'ne can world be in safe hand;
One, a presumed patriot be,
In truth, a friend nor yet an enemy,
Poet seem to lament a lot, can't mend.
Scoundrels they say may have their use,
Of whom, pours a virtual deluge,
People by and large seek refuge
In both— poets whilst in their Muse,
Yet, whatso can be used can be abused,
Beware of either one if scorned, refused.
One thinks no farther than next poll,
Still shorter can be poet's span—
Next line— which once writ he shifts goal,
Yet, their vision larger may pan;
Love them or hate to suit your mood,
Get used to, both are here for good!
And both wordsmiths are in my norm,
Both in search of a brave platform,
Keeping close to his nation's flag
One talks of people and nation,
His eye affixed firmly on to vote bag,
His friend's fond of exuding false passion.
A wordsmith calls him a Wordsworth—
Not just in humour or light mirth,
At lit-fests, now dozen a dime,
Provide a fair platform well worth,
And his perfume spreads pretty in prime time,
Neither needs reasons nor yet a good rhyme.

A perceptive and powerful write. Brilliant description of two of the most clever persons on earth. A great Ode, Sir. Yet, I go with a Poet though he laments a lot. At least, he will never be in a. capacity to corrupt people' s minds and money. The ultimate stanza are beautiful lines for Poets." His perfume spreads pretty in prime time...." ....beautiful line from a great poem.
I admire the way you take time to say your say on the poem. You're right on what I say about the poet. It is when someone does not agree that he/she is more sincere, I feel. Thanks for liking the poem, however.
A powerful write sir! The last two lines directly touch my heart!

Fine presentation. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for adding my poem on to My Poem list. We can't grudge the adverts, but flickering pages not stopping at what you want to read. Also, 'The Page not found' thing happening all the time now. Also, why can't be the poem previewed from the page that gives feedback, I don't know. When clicked it goes to Edit mode instead. I am sure Poem Hunter is ceased of this problem. Further why can't be a poem previewed from
