Staring at a bookshelf filled with poetry
Focusing on an old book, i know is
Dogeared to death
I read it recently
But when, I don't remember,
I bought at a sidewalk sale, one January
At the Mall
For ninety-nine cents with a ten percent discount
And five percent sales tax tacked on
How much joy I ha with that book
Even though, now, the spine had cracked
I still hang on to it
Hoping poetry's popularity will return
So much beauty and sentiment held in poetry! .. May our hearts always cherish, and long to read! ..
