Possessive Poem by David Harris

Possessive

Rating: 5.0

Being possessive is not a clever thing
as you can so easily lose
what you are possessive about.
Everything needs a little freedom in their lives
to sit by themselves and think.
If you deprive them of that,
you are driving a wedge between you both.
Not everyone is born the same,
and if you try to get them to do
only what you want them to do.
You might just find one day that
they are walking away from you.
You have to let people live
without keeping an eye on them all the time.
You have to trust them to be true to you.
The least you trust the more likely they are
to turn their back on you forever.

So so true, It seems to be the one thing that has turned me off of a lot of friendships. Thankyou for just putting it out there
