Prelude To The Book Of Rhyme Poem by Mike Smith

Prelude To The Book Of Rhyme

Rating: 5.0

Yes! The whole book's in rhyme
Or at least it's almost
'Cause I'm not always perfect
But I always get close
See I rhyme and I theme
And I scheme and I slant
Do whatever I can
To a rhyme to implant
In the mind which is yours
(That's the reader it's true)
Though I don't know the reader
Suppose that would be you
Just read on and see
From the front to the back
It's a tongue twisting sea
It's a Seuss Doc attack
A meter melt medley
Both finish and start
A rare rhythmic rhapsody
A real work of art
With ambience, atmosphere
Tempo and mood
I grow complex concepts
To complete, from crude
And the rhymes never end
No they go page to page
And the pages get dirty
For the pages gain age
So if rhyming suits you
And if rhymes you delight in
Then I urge you to read
This rhyme book that I write in
Now, if I've been made clear
Than without more ado
Let us see what more rhymes
I'll devise here for you

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Some years ago I started to write a book especially for rhymes. I needed a place to write down some of my silly ideas separate from my other writing project 'The Book'. It never amounted to much... I filled maybe a dozen pages (and they were small pages) . But the above post is, as best I can remember it, the first page to that separate silliness I called 'The Book of Rhyme'. I've since lost both books as I am a person born with a great talent for misplacing things. Perhaps I'll work towards remaking or replacing those dozen pages sometime. But for now, the introduction will serve as a fun and lighthearted synopsis of that lost forever copy of blue pen text.

I see the world like a rhyme as it continue to revolve around time.

I know it will be virtually impossible to reproduce it completely, but I believe the effort would still be more than worth it. Keep growing complex concepts.
