Present-Day Pity Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Present-Day Pity

Rating: 5.0

Scan all birds
You don't get a non-bird.
Scan all animals
except man;
to find a non-animal
is very hard.

Population of man
has increased by
geometrical progression.
Being human has undergone
a gradual diminution.
Hardly you get
a human.

All are men sans altruism
and humanity.
This is the
present-day pity.

A perceptive and incisive write. Sad to say it is true but I still have that one string of hope that humanity will change for a better tomorrow.
