Words bring us
friends and foes.
They can rain
intolerable blows.
Words sent Lord Rama
to dense forest.
Words charred golden Lanka,
Ravana was killed, his rule twisted.
The great battle of Mahabharat
was the war of words.
Superiors, relatives and others
died in hundreds.
World wars occurred and
would occur by words of leaders.
Words would be responsible
as fuels and speeders.
Wound of words are harder to
forget than that of weapons.
Appropriate and soft words
may save us from aversions.
The results of our words
are poverty and opulence.
Ties are made and broken
piloting benevolence or virulence.
Words can save, humble,
help and heal.
Words can wreck, break,
humiliate and kill.
Strength and short comings
depend on mind and tongue.
Taming and mastering them
would save us from amiss and wrong.
Reticence and taciturnity are the
pills to reap the advantages.
Lack of the above would submerge us in ocean of damages.
' Wounds of words are harder to forget than that of weapons.' Beautiful lines from a beautiful poem. To my Poem List.
So rightly ssid. Brilliantly crafted. It expresses in wonderful detail the effects and power of words.
Jai Hind dear poet all your words are speaking the truth. The concluding line: Lack of the above would submerge us in ocean of damages. Very insightful
