Proper Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Proper

Show me what is proper.
And I will give you proper.
Then tell me where I should go.
With my proper self others will know.

Not too many people give me proper.
Not too many people even know what it is.
Not too many see me proper.
To believe my proper flows ongoing nonstop.

Show me what you mean about proper.
Show me what you mean.
Where is it on the scene.
Show me what I've got is not proper.
Then show me what you mean.
That's above and beyond,
What's observed and obscene.

Show me what you have is so proper.
Show me what you've got.
Whether proper or not.

Not too many people give me proper.
Not too many people know what's proper at all.
Not too many people will see my proper.
For what it is...
And not a prop to drop.
