Pt 4 - Blackness Poem by Jane Sparkes

Pt 4 - Blackness

Soreness tightens my throat and chest, through fog I'm blinking waiting for the storm to pass again.
No chance of rainbows today, the colour is gone to dust never can un-destruct as shattered illusions never were anyway.
Shards of nerves split from and puncture flesh, pain burns in the vacuum and widens the emptiness to hopeless infinity.
Embrace the fire within me now, it's all that's left of us.
Thereon there is nothing - and terrifying peace.
