staying home isn't hard if....
you have a large window with a panoramic view,
and you witness leisurely,
as if that's your only job on a march morning ~
a lonely bird chirping for her mate,
a maple tree with bare branches, waiting for spring, right in front of your verandah,
the wide boundless ethereal sky turning into gold at dawn,
with a purple ball of yarn on your lap!
it's not hard, not hard at all!
the mauve sunlight gleaming on the skyscrapers in the distance,
glittering on the grey chimney of the neighbour across,
along with the aspiring top of the lush evergreen in their front,
the shiny cars in the driveway taking a break on a sunday morning,
the ball of yarn turning into a cute little hat for a preemie!
my vision is blurred, not wearing the glamorous glasses yet,
some days I prefer to be unglamorous!
I prefer it this way, to witness the everlasting beauty of the ruby-red dawn,
but my hands keep moving,
the purple yarn creates a dream with every stitch,
a dream of eternal life with each! ,

What a lovely poem. I concur with your beautiful thoughts. Yes, staying home is not hard at all if you are occupied with an activity you are so passionate about. It gives joy and happiness and the product is so useful too. A timely poem so beautifully crafted.
Thank you so much, Rose Marie. Social isolation is not a pleasant experience, but we can turn it into something meaningful. Your comments are so appreciated.
