Pushed! For The Good Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Pushed! For The Good

Enough of it has been pushed.
Pushed for the good.
And wholesome appearances.

Enough has been donated,
To complaint organizations.
And down on their luck,
Pity relief charities.
With their philanthropic to get,
Non profit status to avoid being taxed.
While promoting tear jerking images.
Impossible for those heartless to forget.

Enough of the smothered guilt,
Left to endure misdeeds of ancestors.
They could not predict a leaving,
A hatred would be built to linger.
Yet symbolized to worship,
An ignorance that still thrives.
Praised and celebrated,
As a revisited historic event.
No one knew then with a consciousness,
What began to start...
Should be ended to prevent,
Racism and division.
Today marketed to profit,
From an invention that makes no sense.
Especially when diversity,
Is more presented everywhere.
Everywhere seen to give it consent.

And still,
There are land warriors.
Depicting a past,
When established kingdoms must be destroyed.
To keep intact mystical delusions.
Of a greatness that conquers to achieve.
With or without good credit ratings.
But pushed!
For the good.
And for those poor left to believe,
One day they will receive...
Exemption from paying higher taxes.
As others enlist,
To battle for a deluded quality of life.
Eluded.
Yet pushed for the good to imagine.
While racketeers invent to uncover...
And reveal,
New ways to play an aging outdated game.
