Quagmire The Queer Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Quagmire The Queer

Rating: 4.0

Quagmire means a place of marsh or bog,
Lower parts of pool is quagmire water is its mug.
People dislike to dwell in a place of boggy,
But Lotus and lily bloom here also in muggy.

Have you ever seen a pool with full of lotus?
Water dandles this but it is very cautious.
Lotus does waddle, swim, sink in the water,
But water can't attach with lotus in a better.

Not a single drop of water link to this flower,
Though the birth is in quagmire and in shower.
We should learn from lotus to have detachment,
Father, mother, son, daughter are all attachment.

We have to work always on righteous qualities,
To avoid wrong works would be our ability.
We should be aware of greed, attachment, lust,
We must avoid attraction of material by any cost.

If we will be free from vices and any attachment,
We will be able to have body mind achievement.
We can gain peace, bliss, love and happiness,
God will save us, he is the ocean of kindness.

It is queer that quagmire creates lovely things,
Which has virtuous qualities above the kings.
Black skin of body has certain value in life,
There is nothing, every thing is beauty is rife.

Yes, even in an ugly place like a quagmire there can be beauty, like the lotus. I agree, we need to cultivate detachment from things and especially 'avoid wrong works'. Illuminating.M. Walker.

[[ doubt people with 'black skin' would like your usage; at least the 'sensitive' ones, especially those who have suffered discrimination due to skin color]] // this line, especially, bothers me: There is nothing, every thing is beauty is rife. bri ;)
