Quicksand Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Quicksand

From a distance,
The world is removed.
Dissolved into the palm of my hand.
If possible.
I'd give this to you and more.
Small cities that flicker at the slightest touch.
Just as the stars that light from beyond the horizon.
Soon to birth a glimpse of the moon in the lukewarm sky.
From a distance,
I'd give this to you and more.
As from here, there is no better way to see the sights.
The people, Mere mannequins dressed in motion.
enacting the tender motions felt between you and I.
Not truly knowing life.
Like them, I become stuck.
Without shape to describe such emotion.
Constantly sinking into the thought of you.
Without words to describe such emotion.
I sink.
Surrounded by the small quivers felt by the wind,
Without worry
I'd give this to you and more.
This perfect view of how I see you.
Unable to move,
As I sink deeper into the quicksand of you
