Quiet Awakening - Poem by Nicholas J Perla

Early morning, as dawn starts to break
Over the still waters, as the birds start to wake
Mere lake waters, standing so still
Bitterly cold air, making my spine so chill
The sun barely risen, as dawn starts to fire
Birds are at chat, as the day gets drier
Darkness dies as the sun starts to rise
Birds take flight to the orange blistered skies
