Rapidly, Going Down Hill. Poem by Sandra Feldman

Rapidly, Going Down Hill.

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a time
There were good feeling
Moments,
Loving progress
Kindling, kinder moments.
Pursuing better times
For All
But, alas that is no more!

Now hate, lies
Deep corruption
Invade,
These United States
And what once was
A greenery of opportunity
For all that honestly
Dreamed and worked,
Has become a haven,
For the worst of worst
Plunging into a decadence
That so vividly burns
And hurts,
As all righteousness,
Seems to escape
And flames of violence
All over, burst!
