Reflections - Poem by lucy roxana lardy

BEHIND THE GLASS BEYOND THE MIRROR LIES A LOOK OF DESPAIR ON A FACE SO REAL. EVEN AS SHE SMILES, IT’S A WORLD UNLIKE ANY OTHER. ALTHOUGH LAUGHTER ERUPTS TEARS STILL HAVE THE POWER. BURNING STING FEELS MY EYES AS I REALIZE, I AM THE GIRL ON THE OTHER SIDE. STRENGTH DISAPPEARS AS WEAKNESS CONSUMES IN A REALM THAT MAKES ME FEEL I'M HEADED FOR DOOM. LOST BEYOND MY MIND SEARCHING FOR ALL THAT I'M TRYING TO FIND. THE ADULT ME HAS ESCAPED MY INNER CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND. BEHIND THE MIRROR BEYOND THE GLASS IS A WOMAN RE-ARRANGING HER MASK. PUSHING FORWARD TO WHAT LIES AHEAD; FEELING NOW REJUVENATED IN MY OWN MIND & HEAD. TO BRAVE THIS OTHER WORLD I MUST CONTINUE ON AHEAD.
